Clan MacLeod Societies
Clan MacLeod Societies include descendants of MacLeods (regardless of the spelling) and associated Septs. This means that any person who is a descendant of a MacLeod (female or male), or who is an affiliate of a Sept of MacLeod, is considered kin. All kin, and their extended family, are welcome to join the Society. Over the last hundred years, kinsfolk around the world have formed Clan MacLeod Societies. As to be expected, Clan MacLeod is particularly strong in Scotland and England. Due to migration, Clan MacLeod also has Societies in U.S.A., Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, France and Australia.
Some countries have a number of regional or state Societies. In Australia, we have four Societies namely, New South Wales (encompassing Queensland and the Australian Capital Territory), Western Australia, South Australia and Victoria. The governing body for all Clan MacLeod Societies is known as the Associated Clan MacLeod Societies (ACMS).
